An agriculturist, who served as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2002-07, 2008-13 and functioned as Chairman, Public Accounts Committee No-II during 2003-07. He has returned to the Punjab Assembly for the third consecutive term in general elections 2013 and is functioning as Minister for Special Education. His father served as Member of the Punjab Assembly during 1985-88, 1988-90, 1990-93 and 1997-99; and also functioned as Minister for Communication & Works, Food and Transport during 1985-88; as Minister for Agriculture during 1988-90, as Chairman Public Accounts Committee during 1990-93; as Speaker, Punjab Assembly from May 4, 1993 to October 19, 1993; and as Leader of the Opposition during 1997-99 and is a sitting MNA. His brother, Mr Asim Saeed Manais served as Tehsil Nazim, Mailsi for two consecutive terms from 2001- 10.
